Martin Stone joined Egis Projects as General Manager with responsibility for a wide range of Egis business activities in North America including oversight of the ATI Hub that provides the exchange and settlement of toll transactions between member toll agencies within the United States for pre-paid electronic toll accounts.

Stone’s background includes more than 35 years of professional transportation and back office operations experience.

As the former Planning Director for the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority, Stone planned and developed all new THEA projects from 1996 to 2011 including Tampa’s award-winning Reversible Express Lanes as well as managing the Authority’s deployment of advanced electronic tolling systems and urban designs. He is an active member of the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA) acting as Chairman of the IBTTA Interoperability Committee to develop a plan to achieve US toll payment interoperability.

As an AVP with Citibank, Stone managed training and communications for the relocation of the Citicorp Travelers Checks Worldwide Service Center from New York to Florida. His consulting career included major public and private transportation and toll industry projects for clients in the North America, Europe and Asia. He was also a URS senior planning consultant to Florida’s Turnpike and a Principle with Barton-Aschman Associates (now known as the Parsons Transportation Group).

He began his planning career with FDOT District I working on such notable projects as the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Tampa’s Veterans Expressway and the Polk Parkway.

Stone was born in Lakeland, Florida and for 30 years was the internal press box announcer for University of Florida football and for 18 years he was the arena announcer for Gator basketball. He also served on active duty as an officer at the United States Army Logistics Management Center at Fort Lee, Virginia
